Introduction - Organizational Details:
Barilla America, Inc. wants to recruit a Human Resource Manager- Avon. - within Human Resources at Avon, NY. The individual will report to the Plant Director.
Job Purpose: The Plant Human Resources Manager is primarily responsible for supporting plant personnel in the areas of recruitment/selection, training, performance evaluation/personal development, employee relations, compensation and benefits, Labor/Union relations. The position is responsible for the continuous improvement/refinement of all associated programming, supporting the Diversity (D&I) and inclusion programs in the plant and the local communities.
Key Accountabilities:
Direct the implementation of HR policies, programs, and procedures. Manage conflict resolution, team building, feedback and employee skill evaluations.
Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaint
Monitors performance management and develop training plans
Facilitate and lead the communication process among all levels of the organization.
Responsible for compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters
Lead recruiting, selection, and retention strategies.
Communicate the local total compensation programs, including health, dental, life, and vision.
Assess staff training requirements and create programs and documentation to meet all development needs.
Support payroll, and manage the labor budget (involving finance controller and production manager, plant director as needed) including analyzing results and developing recommendations for improvement.
Monitor pay for skills program; Evaluate compensation program and lead improvements as needed
Assess job descriptions and benchmark pay of positions; review the classification of positions and rewrite as needed
Lead employee relations team
Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
Work with external consultant/attorney to address specific issues as they arise.
Follows ISO 14001 environmental certification policies and procedures, support the training program and be the record keeper for training documentation, and participate in management reviews
Follows FFS22000 policies and procedures, address / communicate quality and food safety issues as they occur.
Required to actively participate on the Food Defense Team and abide by the Food Defense Model.
Required to be an FSMA qualified individual, following all requirements from FSMA regulations
Ensure compliance and understanding for quality procedures that directly tie to food safety-PRPs, OPRPs, CCPs, and FSMA requirements
Oversee plant crisis and risk activities including Workers Compensation in collaboration with HSE.
Be the Barilla reference point for the company that provides security to the plant.
Be the local crisis coordinator as defined by the crisis manual.
Be responsible for managing the HR budget.
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Information :
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources or related field.
Minimum of eight years' experience in the human resources function is required, preferably with specific experience in Human Resources Management within a production facility.
Previous experience in a multi-national environment is a plus.
HR Certification a plus
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws required.
7 yrs experience with online talent attraction and employer branding
7 yrs experience managing vendors
Experience with employment and unemployment law
Experience partnering with management and staff in a team-based environment while handling confidential information with judgment and discretion

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
